Time to detox – night treatment!

Today I thought I’ll share with you two other products from the Elemis’ Tri-Enzyme range: Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Night Cream (RRP £81.70) and Tri-Enzyme Resurfacing Serum (RRP £97.10), which can help to replenish the skin cells during the night time!

Both of the products complement each other and both of them are VERY expensive! As I can’t really afford to buy them from Elemis directly, I look out for offers from the QVCUK website as it’s a great place to find the whole Elemis products range cheaper!

The serum

The texture of the whole range is gel-like but some products have a thicker texture than others. The serum is very light in texture though and you don’t need to use a lot of it as it easily glides on the skin, so half a pump is more than enough! As this product is very expensive, this way it will last you even longer. I’ve used one whole bottle of the serum (30ml) and I liked the texture and smell; however, I have to admit I haven’t noticed any visible changes in my complexion!

Before going for the whole 30mls I’d say it’s better to try it in a smaller version (10mls from QVCUK website) to see if this product delivers better results to you! I know people who absolutely love this product so if you are looking for a smoother skin and to get a more even and luminous skin tone give this product a try!

The night cream

The night cream, on the other hand, has a bit thicker gel texture to the serum and facial wash, and smells absolutely lovely – very fresh but subtle.

It stimulates the skin’s natural cell renewal cycle and replenishes the skin during the night. This products actually delivers to its promises so whenever I run out of my Elemis Pro-Collagen Oxygenating Night Cream I always come back to using this night cream! I wake up to a more plumped, smooth and luminous face! The only downside is that I can’t use it around my eyes so a need for additional eye cream is a must in this case!

I hope you enjoy the ‘detox’ sessions and it gives you some ideas how to get a smoother, plumper and younger looking skin! Let us know if you’d used these products before and what did you think about them!

Stay beautiful!

Time to detox! Do the Tri-enzyme challenge!

Happy New Year to you all! Hope this one is even better than the previous year!

I haven’t been around for a few weeks down to a nasty viral infection but now I’m back, filled with positive energy and I can’t wait to share with you all my beauty finds and tips! Just to echo what Stace said about setting new year’s resolutions, I try not to have any this year as I could never carry them past the first few weeks of January, so what’s the point?!

This year I decided to carry on with my beauty routine that works for me and has been for some time now and maybe be a bit happier in my happy already life! Easier said than done but I know it'll be good!!!

January is a good month for a new start, so I decided that detox is a must, especially after the overindulgence in both eating and drinking over the festive season! For that reason I decided to get my facial enzymes back on track and use the Elemis’ Tri-enzyme range for a month!

For the next few days I’ll be reviewing the range and letting you know if it’s worth a try!

Today I look at the Tri-EnzymeResurfacing Facial Wash. You can buy it in the department stores that stock Elemis or online at QVCUK or http://www.timetospa.co.uk/skincare/skin-resurfacing/Elemis-Tri-Enzyme-Resurfacing-Facial-Wash/. It costs £27.60 so it’s not the cheapest choice; however it lasts a long time! I’ve been using my bottle on and off for four months now! As it’s in a pump bottle the product doesn’t age as quickly as it’s airtight so it's easy to put it aside and use it when needed!

The results:
The gel-like consistency allows for a smooth application on the skin. It’s best to apply it (avoiding the eye and mouth area!) just before jumping under the shower for the steam to help the product to penetrate all the cells and gently remove the dead skin cells which dull the complexion. Once I wash it off I feel like my skin received a serving of a crisp, fresh air (just like in the Winterfresh ads!)! The surface is squeaky clean and the skin looks matt but doesn’t feel tight! The smells is divine, too! Very subtle and clean! Fantastic, especially when you have combination skin type!

Tri-enzyme resurfacing wash

Gel-like consistancy
On the first application or after I haven’t used the facial wash for a while, I always feel a little tingling especially around the nose area where my skin seems to need a bit more attention! This wash, not to be confused with a skin cleanser, as this Tri-Enzyme Facial Wash can only be used on an already cleansed skin (!), stimulates the skin's natural cell renewal cycle, helping to smooth and improve the complexion.

I call it “my wonder product”, as whenever I come up with spots or my skin is dehydrated or under the weather, this product saves my life! It revives, replenishes and brings my skin to life in a matter of wash or two! Fantastic product to use morning and evening! One thing to mention though – don’t sunbathe or use sunbeds whilst using this product! Best bet is to use day cream with a filter so your newly re-enzymed face isn’t exposed to the harmful UV rays!

Are you ready to start your tri-enzyme challenge? Have you ever used this product before, if so what is your view? Let us know!

Stay beautiful!

Eye creams put to the test!

Happy Monday to you all! As I mentioned in my Happy New Year post, my mission for 2012 is to find myself the perfect eye cream. As I scan the eye products that are out there I am finding there are a plethora of different products, day, night, anti-puffiness, hydrating, the list is endless. Have I set myself the Mission Impossible of beauty missions??

So here's the thing. I turn 30 in 5 weeks. Not 29 or 28, but 30. Phew, I said it. Yes, as you can guess, I am having a hard time coming to terms with this number. And it is just that, a number. I have a pretty good skin care routine, but something I have never concentrated on has been the eyes. I don't know why, they just seem to have escaped my routine. When I look in the mirror, I don't think I look 30, until I look really close and realise my eyes give me away completely. Please see exhibit a. My eyes aged 29.

Yes that is a scary picture. So as you can see, I do have lines around my eyes. And for anyone who is about to ask the question, the beautiful eye that is our Twitter avatar is in fact Mags' eye not mine...

2012 is the year I will find a great eye cream. Every month I am going to set about testing a new eye cream, and rating the eye cream. And hopefully amongst them I will find a miracle anti-ageing eye cream that will rid my face of the tell tale signs of my real age. I hope.

January's eye cream - Clinique, All About Eyes

This product retails for about £20 for 15ml. I got this particular pot as part of one of the Clinique bonus time deals. The product claims to reduce puffiness, minimise dark circles and fine lines. The usual application method of using the ring finger to apply to the eye area sparingly morning and night is advised.

Verdict
The consistency of this eye cream is quite thick, and doesn't sink in that quickly, so I opted to use this only at night. I could also feel it on the eye area, so I don't know if I used too much. I was however impressed with the results. In the mornings, my eye area was definitely not puffy, wrinkles had lessened, and the eye area was smoother, making it was easier to apply my normal highlighter to the area. As for dark circles I didn't really notice a difference. I like the effect this had on my eyes, however it did not seem to make a major difference if used over a prolonged period of time, and so I would probably have to keep using the product everyday to enjoy the same results.

The price seems ok for what you get, and although I wasn't wowed by the effects, you could see a noticeable difference.

Scores on the door?
7/10

Repeat purchase?
I would buy this again if I don't find an eye cream that matches these results, but I really hope I do!!

Let's see what luck I have in my quest next month!

If you have any recommendations for eye creams, please let me know! I have 11 spaces up for grabs!!

Thanks for reading and stay beautiful!
